Fix your A/C before the summer heat!

Fort Collins and Loveland homeowners know: summer is not the time to face an unexpected a/c repair. Best to get the A/C recharged and running properly before you need it. But we get it. This never happens! Instead, many A/C units will die after their first long, hot day. Long Heating & Air will help you, even during the peak summer months, to get your A/C system working again, from simple refrigerant recharges to diagnosis and a/c repair.

A/C Repair Checklist

There is a right way and a wrong way to troubleshoot air conditioning problems. Northern Colorado cooling systems have needs specific to our climate and altitude. Below is an outline of the process we use to stay consistent and efficient when diagnosing and repairing home A/C systems.

1. CONDENSER PAD

Ensure the pad is level and that the condenser has not been damaged by a non-level surface.

2. EVAPORATOR COIL

Is the Evaporator Coil functioning as it should? Is there water damage from a malfunctioning evaporation process?

3. COMPRESSORDIAGNOSTICS

We have specific tools to evaluate whether power is getting to the unit and whether that power is making it to all needed circuitry.

4. PRESSURE TEST LINES

Verifying that your system lines are working under normal load comes next. This will reveal pressure or leak issues.

5. REFRIGERANT

First we vacuum out any refrigerant in the lines to ensure that a refrigerant recharge is not diluted by subpar coolant mixture.

6. RECHARGE REFRIGERANT

Nearly every A/C system can use an annual refrigerant recharge. This is especially true of older, malfunctioning A/C units.

Testimonials

“Long Heating & Air of NorCo are the absolute best! I called and requested a visit to my home as our AC was out. They came same day, diagnosed the issues and had the remedy and part needed to get us up and running again in just 90 minutes. Our team of technicians (Phil and Chris) were knowledgeable, communicative and courteous. They will be my first call from now on! I promise you these guys are the best!”

Our AC started acting up yesterday. Tried to do a few things thinking maybe I could “self repair”. Was more than just filter cleaning and such. Called them and they were here within an hour! Guys were professional and fixed my AC right up. It’s starting to cool down and I’m am so thankful for them!

Great job guys!

Long Heating and Air is top notch! Our air went out last week and we called a Nationally known company to come out. They told us our air conditioner was completely seized and we needed a whole new unit for $6500, they gave us no other option. We decided to get a second opinion from Long’s Heating and Air. Thankfully, we decided to because Phil was honest and fixed a few small items. It’s running perfect for just over $300. He returned our call promptly, and came out the next day. He was honest, respectful to our home, affordable, and punctual. I highly recommend picking this local company.
